Developing marketable innovation requires one to not only focus on identifying problems whose potential solutions have a business value but also work on developing new methods, tools and technologies and applying them to solve them. At the innovation center we conduct research in certain specific technology verticals and develop tools/technologies that would have a very high impact, and create a disruption in the technology and economic value chains. The focus in the innovation labs is on both incremental as well as disruptive improvements in the state of the art.
Identity and Authentication
We have developed new frameworks and models for identity and authentication. We focus on developing authentication protocols and innovative identity technologies. We have developed radically new methods in biometric techniques. We are currently working on developing a ubiquitous identity model (relative identity) that will fundamentally change the way we look at identity (rel-id.uniken.com). We firmly believe that the current identity models and hence technologies are seriously limited, and one needs to address this problem at the foundations to address the growing fraud on the internet.
Network Security
We work on developing new tools and methods for end-point security and network data security. The research focuses on developing technologies for WIFI security, and to enhance the current WPA/WEP security methods. We are working on developing a new model for dynamic secure P2P networks to prevent the sophisticated MITM and MAC/IP spoofing attacks.
Intelligent Software Systems
Developing software that is aware and intelligent is one of the key goals of this research. We are currently working on concepts and prototypes for making advertisements intelligent and aware, so that they deliver more value. We are working on concepts related to dynamic adaptive advertisements that are embedded in socially networked environments. We believe that this field of research will have significant impact in the way currently the advertisement or for that matter any information is disseminated. Delivering relevant context sensitive information through intelligent software systems is a very exciting research area.
